Oats Over Ice

Overnight Oats make for an easy and healthy morning meal.

Breakfast is still the most important meal of the day, but busy weekday mornings provide scant time to prepare a proper one. That leaves few options for the health-conscious, considering many places up-charge for the convenience of a speedy, on-the-go snack. But getting a quick and healthy breakfast doesn’t have to break the bank. Overnight oats are simple, healthy, and can be prepared in under a minute the night before, so you can hit the AM snooze and be refreshed, awake, and energized at work.

Oatmeal Breakfast SmoothieOne-Jar Recipe

Dairy and Gluten Free

In a mason jar combine:

½ cup rolled oats (gluten free)

½ cup almond milk (or plant milk)

1 Tbsp chia seeds

1 dash of cinnamon

1 dash of nutmeg

Sugar to taste

Mix ingredients together in the mason jar until chia seeds are evenly spread throughout the mixture. Cover with a lid and refrigerate overnight. In the morning, top with fresh and seasonal fruits.
