Harmony of the Seas: Pool and Sports Zone
Get ready for some action-packed fun with attractions like the Ultimate Abyss, SplashAway Bay, and Perfect Storm, along with many classic adventure favorites.
Royal Caribbean has long been the leader in creating exclusive first-at-sea experiences. The cruise line’s newest and most innovative masterpiece, Harmony of the Seas, does not disappoint in continuing to uphold that longstanding, revered position. This ship is home to a bold and unexpected lineup of experiences found nowhere else on land or at sea. For active travelers seeking a cruise vacation that will test their skills—and their nerves—head to the Pool and Sports Zone on Decks 15 and 16.
Stretching the entire length of the ship, this activity-filled neighborhood is a massive onboard playground with adrenaline-amping slides, wipeout-worthy surf simulators, FlowRider, and high-flying zip lines. It’s where guests of all ages can get their adventure fix, making memories while experiencing the most epic cruise vacation.
Look for The Ultimate Abyss, the tallest slide at sea; The Perfect Storm, a trio of intertwining water slides; four unique pools; two FlowRider surf simulators; a zip line; amazing views of Boardwalk and Central Park below; plus the introduction of a family-friendly waterpark for kids, Splashaway Bay.
The Perfect Storm, is a multistory trio of waterslides snaking above Central Park, some ten decks below. Guests can challenge each other in aqua adventures like a race to the finish line with Cyclone and Typhoon, which twist and turn down three decks, while sliders in Supercell experience a champagne-bowl finale that swirls guests around at the conclusion of the ride.
Harmony of the Seas also features Splashaway Bay, an interactive aqua park for children of all ages. The gigantic waterscape features sea creatures, water cannons, winding slides, a gigantic drench bucket, and a multi-platform jungle gym meant to keep everyone entertained for hours.
Royal Caribbean’s hallmark attractions continue to exhilarate guests at the Pool and Sports Zone, all while providing some of Harmony’s most dramatic and unexpected views.
In addition to the first-at-sea activities, the Pool and Sports Zone on Harmony of the Seas also presents classic favorites like FlowRider, where the surf’s always up. The two 40-foot-long surf simulators pump 34,000 gallons of water per minute enabling guests to stand-up surf or boogie board. Located at the aft of the ship, guests can catch a wave while catching a glimpse of stellar ocean views.
Another first-at-sea innovation and a Royal Caribbean signature experience, zip lines, take guests on electrifying rides 82 feet across an open-air atrium suspended nine decks above Harmony’s Boardwalk neighborhood. Those brave enough to look down enjoy a bird’s-eye-view of the Boardwalk and AquaTheater activity bustling below. The Pool and Sports Zone also features a nine-hole miniature golf course and the Sports Court for friendly games of basketball, volleyball, and soccer.
This activity-filled neighborhood also offers rest for the weary, food for the hungry, and drink for the thirsty. The adults-only Solarium features a three-deck high, glass-paneled enclave designed with seating on various “islands” surrounded by water, providing guests with the sensation of floating on air. The open-air Solarium offers a tranquil swimming pool, two serene whirlpools, and four cantilevered whirlpools suspended 136 feet above the ocean. If sitting in the whirlpool gets you parched, grab a drink at the Solarium Bar. When hunger pangs start to hit, Windjammer Marketplace is a seaside café that serves buffet-style breakfast and lunch. In the evenings, the café’s casual atmosphere is complemented by a changing menu and restaurant-style service.
